01:22 PM EDT, 05/16/2024 (MT Newswires) -- Canadian National Railway ( CNI ) said Thursday that it has presented labor union Teamsters Canada Rail Conference with a revised offer.

The new offer eliminates the hourly rate and scheduling proposal, but remains in compliance with Canadian government's Duty and Rest Period Rules.

The revised offer for employees in Western Canada includes scheduled days off and higher pay rates for shifts exceeding 10 hours and up to a maximum of 12 hours. Current benefits, such as paid leave, medical leave, vacation time, statutory holidays, and home terminal rest, will remain unchanged. The offer also includes wage increases of 3% in 2024 and 2.5% in 2025.

The Teamsters Canada Rail Conference did not immediately respond to MT Newswires' request for comment.
