Canadian Solar Shares Fall After Reporting Lower Q1 Earnings, Revenue; Issues Q2, 2024 Revenue Outlook

11:10 AM EDT, 05/09/2024 (MT Newswires) -- Canadian Solar's ( CSIQ ) shares were down by more than 3% in Thursday trading after reporting Q1 earnings of $0.19 per diluted share, down from $1.19 per share a year earlier.

Analysts polled by Capital IQ expected a loss of $0.02 per share.

Revenue for the quarter ended March 31 was $1.33 billion, down from $1.7 billion a year earlier.

Analysts surveyed by Capital IQ expected $1.29 billion.

For Q2, the said company it expects total revenue of $1.5 billion to $1.7 billion. Analysts polled by Capital IQ expect $2.09 billion.

For the full-year 2024, the company expects revenue of $7.3 billion to $8.3 billion. Analysts expect $8.69 billion.
