11:28 AM EDT, 10/14/2025 (MT Newswires) -- Canadian Tire ( CDNTF ) (CTC-A.TO) said Tuesday that it identified a data breach involving customer information in an e-commerce database on Oct. 2. The breach was confined to that database, which did not include Canadian Tire Bank information or Triangle Rewards loyalty data.

The database contained basic personal information for customers who have an e-commerce account with Canadian Tire ( CDNTF ), SportChek, Mark's/L'Equipeur and Party City. This included name, address, email, and year of birth. In fewer than 150,000 accounts, the data included date of birth. Canadian Tire ( CDNTF ) has identified these account holders and will contact them in the coming days to provide notification and offer credit monitoring. CTC has reported this matter to applicable privacy regulators.
Canadian Tire ( CDNTF ) shares are up $1.83, to $169.74, on the Toronto Stock Exchange.
