Cardinal Health Gains Approval for Science-Based Targets to Cut Greenhouse Gas Emissions

09:07 AM EDT, 03/15/2024 (MT Newswires) -- Cardinal Health ( CAH ) said Friday that the Science Based Targets initiative (SBTi) has approved the company's greenhouse gas emissions reduction targets.

The company said it intends to reduce absolute Scope 1 and 2 GHG emissions by 50% by fiscal 2030 from a fiscal 2019 base year. Cardinal Health ( CAH ) also aims for 75% of its suppliers to set science-based targets by fiscal 2028.

Targets are classified as science-based if they are in line with the latest climate science guidance to limit global warming to 1.5 degrees Celsius above pre-industrial levels, according to the company.
