Carlyle Group Funds to Sell Cogentrix Energy for $3 Billion

07:07 AM EDT, 08/05/2024 (MT Newswires) -- Carlyle Group ( CG )- (CG) managed funds signed a deal to sell independent power producer Cogentrix Energy to Quantum Capital Group and affiliates for about $3 billion, Quantum Capital said Monday.

The transaction remains subject to customary regulatory approvals and is expected to close between Q4 this year and Q1 2025, according to the statement.

Shares of Carlyle Group ( CG ) were down more than 1% premarket.
