Carnival Discloses Plans for Excel Ships; Places Order for AIDA Cruises Ships
Apr 7, 2025 1:18 AM

04:00 AM EDT, 04/07/2025 (MT Newswires) -- Carnival (CCL, CUK) said Sunday it is launching Carnival Festivale, the fourth ship in its Excel class ships, in spring 2027.

The company also said its fifth Excel class ship, Carnival Tropicale, will be delivered in spring 2028.

A new ship platform, currently called Project Ace, includes three ships built by Fincantieri that will be delivered in 2029, 2031 and 2033, Carnival said.

The company said it is returning to year-round operations in Mobile, Alabama beginning in spring 2027 and considering moving a larger Conquest class ship to Baltimore in 2027 that can accommodate about 1,000 more guests than the current ship deployed from Baltimore.

Separately on Monday, the company said it placed an order for two new ships for its AIDA Cruises unit, also with Fincantieri. The ships will be delivered in Q1 of fiscal years 2030 and 2032, respectively. The order is contingent upon financing, which is expected to be completed later in 2025, Carnival said.
