Carrier Global to Sell Industrial Fire Business to Sentinel Capital for $1.43 Billion

07:52 AM EST, 03/05/2024 (MT Newswires) -- Carrier Global ( CARR ) said Tuesday it has agreed to sell its Industrial Fire business to Sentinel Capital Partners for an enterprise value of about $1.43 billion.

The 1,400-employee Industrial Fire business provides fire detection and suppression equipment in more than 20 countries.

The sale is expected to close in Q3, pending regulatory approval and customary closing conditions. Carrier Global ( CARR ) said it expects net proceeds from the transaction to exceed $1.1 billion, which it intends to use to pay down debt.

The company said it is also preparing to sell its combined commercial and residential fire businesses and that expects to resume share repurchases by the end of 2024.
