04:33 PM EDT, 07/08/2025 (MT Newswires) -- Cascades (CAS.TO) after close of trade Tuesdays said it is permanently closing its corrugated medium manufacturing facility in Niagara Falls, New York, cutting 123 jobs and incurring closure costs estimated at $5 million.
The company said production will end no later than Sept. 3. A second machine at the facility was closed in 2023. The Niagara Falls production site has an annual production capacity of 200,000 short tons.
Cascades said it will offer affected employees support in searching for a new job.

"The future growth momentum for Cascades and our customers is very promising, and we are well positioned to capitalize on opportunities for strategic and sustainable growth."
Cascades shares closed up $0.10 to $9.25 on the Toronto Stock Exchange.
