Casella Waste Systems to Collaborate with Viridi Energy on Renewable Natural Gas Facility in Maine

11:08 AM EDT, 03/19/2024 (MT Newswires) -- Casella Waste Systems ( CWST ) will manage feedstock collection and supply of about 85,000 tons of biosolids per year to Viridi Energy's recently acquired biosolids digester plant in Brunswick, Maine, Viridi said Tuesday.

Viridi said it plans to convert the site into a waste-to-renewable natural gas facility, with completion of retrofit construction expected by the second half of 2025 and full operations slated to begin in 2026.

Casella shares were 0.2% higher in recent trading.
