Caterpillar Excluded From Norway's Wealth Fund on Ethical Grounds
Aug 26, 2025 3:47 AM

06:22 AM EDT, 08/26/2025 (MT Newswires) -- Caterpillar ( CAT ) and five Israeli banking groups have been excluded from Norway's sovereign wealth fund due to human rights violations in the Israel-Hamas war, Norway's central bank, which operates the fund, said on Monday.

Norges Bank said that its decision was based on recommendations from the Council on Ethics, which assessed that Caterpillar's ( CAT ) products are being used "to commit extensive and systematic violations of international humanitarian law".

The bulldozers manufactured by Caterpillar ( CAT ) are being used by Israel "in the widespread unlawful destruction of Palestinian property", the council said, adding that the company has not implemented any measures to prevent such use.

Caterpillar ( CAT ) did not immediately respond to MT Newswires' request for comment on the matter.
