PARIS, Sept 2 (Reuters) - An incident that caused a
Cathay Pacific Airbus jetliner to turn back to base on Monday
involved a problem with a fuel nozzle inside a Rolls-Royce
XWB-97 jet engine, a person familiar with the matter
said.
Cathay Pacific said earlier it was inspecting all 48 of its
Airbus A350s after a problem with an unspecified engine
component forced a Zurich-bound A350-1000 to divert back to Hong
Kong.
Rolls-Royce did not immediately respond to a request for
comment on the reported fuel nozzle problem, but said earlier it
was aware of the incident at Cathay Pacific and would work
closely with the airline, Airbus and relevant authorities.
