10:45 AM EDT, 06/04/2024 (MT Newswires) -- CBAK Energy Technology ( CBAT ) said Tuesday it upgraded its model 32140 large cylindrical lithium-ion battery produced at its Nanjing, China, facility for faster electric-vehicle charging.

The upgrade boosted the fast-charging rate to 1.8C from 0.8C with a full charge cut to 35 minutes from 75 minutes, CBAK said. The battery's cycle life under high-current charge and discharge doubled, enhancing overall durability and efficiency, the Dalian, China-based company said.

CBAK applied for a patent for the new technology in China and expects approval soon.
