09:57 AM EDT, 10/28/2025 (MT Newswires) -- Celanese (CE) said Tuesday that it plans to cease manufacturing operations at its acetate tow facility in Lanaken, Belgium in H2 of next year.
The company cited declining demand, regulatory uncertainty, and high energy and operating costs as reasons for the planned closure.
Celanese said it will continue to meet customer commitments before making any changes and the planned closure could affect about 160 employees.
Shares of Celanese were down 3.7% in early trading on Tuesday.
