05:58 PM EDT, 06/04/2026 (MT Newswires) -- Celanese (CE) will close its engineered materials compounding facility in Ulsan, South Korea, as part of efforts to optimize its manufacturing footprint and advance its "Grow & Fortify" strategy, the company said late Thursday.

Manufacturing and production operations at the Ulsan plant will cease immediately, with production volumes transferred to facilities in Nanjing and Shenzhen, China, and Silvassa, India, the company said.

Celanese said the move is aimed at reducing costs, strengthening its regional supply chain and improving utilization of its compounding assets across Asia.
