09:39 AM EDT, 03/23/2026 (MT Newswires) -- Cencora ( COR ) said Monday that it will acquire EyeSouth Partners' retina business for $1.1 billion as the drug distributor seeks to expand its network of retina specialists.
Retina physicians linked with EyeSouth Partners will join Retina Consultants of America, in which Cencora ( COR ) took a majority stake last year.
"EyeSouth Partners has built a strong regional network of physicians that provides high quality patient care," Cencora ( COR ) Chief Executive Robert Mauch said in a statement. "By joining RCA, these physicians will become part of an organization with capabilities designed to provide world-class retina care and be supported by Cencora's ( COR ) longstanding commitment to community physicians."
Cencora ( COR ) expects the acquisition to be slightly accretive to its adjusted earnings per share in the first 12 months following closing, the company said. The deal is subject to regulatory approvals.
Cencora ( COR ) affirmed its fiscal 2026 guidance, saying the transaction closing is not expected in the ongoing fiscal year.
Last month, Cencora ( COR ) maintained its full-year adjusted EPS guidance of $17.45 to $17.75 and raised revenue growth expectations to between 7% and 9%. Cencora ( COR ) recently completed the acquisition of cancer care network OneOncology.
"Our physicians will drive expanded access to innovative treatments through RCA's clinical trial and research offerings while continuing to work with EyeSouth Partners to support patient access across the ophthalmology landscape," EyeSouth Partners board member Atul Sharma said the Monday statement.
