Analysts polled by FactSet expected a loss of $0.14.

Revenue for the quarter ended Sept. 30 was $49.69 billion, up from $42.02 billion the prior year. Analysts surveyed by FactSet expected $47.72 billion.

The company raised its full-year adjusted earnings forecast to at least $2.00 per share from $1.75 previously.

Shares of Centene ( CNC ) rose more than 10% in recent premarket activity.
