06:58 AM EDT, 03/19/2024 (MT Newswires) -- The Centers for Medicare & Medicaid Services has awarded a contract to CGI Federal Inc., a wholly-owned US operating subsidiary of CGI Inc. , to improve Medicare access for more than 65 million beneficiaries nationwide, the company said Tuesday.

CGI Federal will augment the agency's Health Plan Management System to optimize the plan enrollment and compliance processes for more than 800 private health and drug plans currently participating in the Medicare Advantage and Medicare Part D programs.

The contract includes a one-year base period, and four one-year option periods, for a total contract value of US$72 million ($97.7 million).
