01:03 PM EDT, 09/10/2024 (MT Newswires) -- Centessa Pharmaceuticals ( CNTA ) shares were up nearly 4% in recent Tuesday trading after the company said ORX750 was found to restore wakefulness in acutely sleep-deprived healthy volunteers.

Interim results from an ongoing phase 1 trial of the company's experimental medicine found that the higher dose of the drug restored normative wakefulness in subjects, with participants staying awake for an average of 32 minutes.

Based on the interim data, the company said it plans to advance the medicine into phase 2 studies in subjects with narcolepsy type 1, narcolepsy type 2, and idiopathic hypersomnia beginning in Q4.
