10:23 AM EDT, 09/27/2024 (MT Newswires) -- Central Garden & Pet ( CENT ) said Friday that Niko Lahanas has been named chief executive officer and Brad Smith has been named chief financial officer.

Lahanas, who will also join the company's board, succeeds Beth Springer, who has served as interim CEO since October 2023, Central said. Springer will go back to the role of lead independent director, the company said.

Lahanas has been the company's CFO since 2017, Central said.

Smith joined Central in 2017, the company said.
