04:59 AM EDT, 09/25/2025 (MT Newswires) -- Centrus Energy ( LEU ) said Thursday it plans a "major expansion" of its uranium enrichment plant in Piketon, Ohio.

"We are planning a historic, multi-billion-dollar investment right here in Ohio -- supported by a nationwide supply chain to do just that," Chief Executive Amir Vexler said.

The size and scope of the expansion depend on federal funding decisions from the US Department of Energy for low-enriched uranium and high-assay, low-enriched uranium, the company said.
