05:45 PM EDT, 10/17/2024 (MT Newswires) -- Centrus Energy ( LEU ) said Thursday its unit American Centrifuge Operating is one of the four firms awarded a contract from the US Department of Energy to expand domestic commercial production of uranium.

The company said the minimum contract value is $2 million and the maximum value for all awardees is $2.7 billion over 10 years.

The ultimate value of the contract will depend on task orders subsequently issued by the Energy Department to Centrus.
