05:37 PM EDT, 10/08/2024 (MT Newswires) -- Centrus Energy ( LEU ) said Tuesday that its American Centrifuge Operating unit got an award from the US Department of Energy to deconvert uranium hexafluoride to uranium oxide and/or uranium metal forms.

The Department of Energy has awarded the project to six companies with a $2 million minimum and $800 million maximum contract value for all awardees, according to Centrus.

The ultimate award price will depend on task orders that are subsequently issued to American Centrifuge Operating, Centrus added.
