Century Aluminum Resumes Operations at Jamaica Port; Expects Lower Production in Iceland
Sep 17, 2024 5:16 AM

07:46 AM EDT, 09/17/2024 (MT Newswires) -- Century Aluminum ( CENX ) said Tuesday that it has resumed normal shipping operations at Jamalco's Rocky Point port in Jamaica after repairs were made to the port from damage caused by Hurricane Beryl.

The aluminum producer also said that geothermal energy companies in Iceland issued partial power curtailment orders to their industrial customers for required maintenance activities, including Century Aluminum's ( CENX ) smelter in Grundartangi, Iceland.

Century Aluminum ( CENX ) said it expects the curtailments to reduce production at the Grundartangi facility by 2,500 metric tons in Q3.
