06:00 PM EDT, 04/23/2026 (MT Newswires) -- Century Aluminum Company ( CENX ) said late Thursday it has restarted production in the second potline at its Noroural smelter in Grundartangi, Iceland, several months earlier than planned.

The restart came after the transformers were repaired following an unanticipated failure, the company said.

The remaining pots will be restarted on an accelerated schedule to reach close to full production by the end of July, it said. Potline two represents about two-thirds of the plant's total capacity.
