10:59 AM EDT, 10/20/2025 (MT Newswires) -- Century Lithium ( CYDVF ) said Monday that its demonstration plant in Amargosa Valley, Nevada, has produced its first lithium hydroxide from lithium carbonate derived from the company's Angel Island lithium project in the state.
The company said the lithium hydroxide samples were produced on-site in a batch process using conventional liming conversion with calcium hydroxide to make high-purity, +99.5% lithium hydroxide.
Century Lithium ( CYDVF ) is also pursuing a direct lithium conversion process to produce lithium hydroxide directly from lithium chloride.
"Up until this point, Century's efforts have focused on making lithium carbonate as the end product for Angel Island," president and chief executive officer Bill Willoughby said. "By producing high-purity lithium hydroxide, we show that Angel Island can supply another major lithium product for the domestic market."
Century Lithium ( CYDVF ) traded 3.6% higher at last look to $0.29 on the TSX Venture Exchange.
