04:37 PM EST, 12/11/2024 (MT Newswires) -- CGI (GIB-A.TO) said Wednesday afternoon it signed an agreement to merge operations with Daugherty, a St. Louis-based professional services firm.

The merger adds over 1,100 consultants to CGI and strengthens its presence in key US markets, including St. Louis, Atlanta, Minneapolis, Chicago, Columbus, Dallas, and New York, the company said.

The agreement was signed on Nov. 29, and the transaction is set to close this month, pending regulatory approval and other conditions, the company added.

"We're forging a path with CGI that expands global capabilities, creates meaningful professional opportunities, and amplifies our collective potential to drive innovation and positive change in our communities," Daugherty Chief Executive Ron Daugherty said.

The financial details of the merger were not given.

CGI's Class A shares closed up $0.54 to $162.33 on the Toronto Stock Exchange.
