Humane, motivational and a thorough executor - that's how Aditya Puri describes Sashidhar Jagdishan, the man who would be succeeding him as the managing director and CEO of HDFC Bank.
The Reserve Bank today approved Jagdishan's appointment for a tenure of three years. A company veteran of 24 years, Sashi, as he is known within the company, currently holds the post of additional director and heads finance, human resources, and a few other departments. He was appointed the ''strategic change agent'' of the bank in 2019.
The RBI's approval today finally ends the succession speculation ahead of Aditya Puri's retirement in October. Mr. Puri would be stepping down after leading the bank since its inception in 1994.
