Charles River Laboratories, Gates Institute Collaborate on Lentiviral Vector Manufacturing

10:27 AM EDT, 06/25/2024 (MT Newswires) -- Charles River Laboratories International ( CRL ) and the Gates Institute said Tuesday they have entered into a lentiviral vector contract development and manufacturing organization agreement.

Gates Institute, based at the University of Colorado Anschutz Medical Campus, will be given access to Charles River's manufacturing platforms and viral vector CDMO center of excellence to develop good manufacturing practice-grade lentiviral vectors for use in novel chimeric antigen receptor T-cell therapies for hematological cancers, the company and research institute said.

They added that materials produced within the collaboration will be used to support an application for phase 1 clinical trial.
