08:27 AM EDT, 10/01/2024 (MT Newswires) -- Charles Schwab ( SCHW ) said Tuesday that Chief Executive Walt Bettinger has notified the company about his decision to retire, effective Dec. 31.

The company has named President Rick Wurster as Bettinger's successor in the CEO role, effective Jan. 1.

Bettinger will continue to serve as executive co-chairman of the board as well as president, the financial services provider said.
