Chemours Discontinues Sales of Legacy Refrigerants in US

01:58 PM EDT, 05/02/2024 (MT Newswires) -- Chemours ( CC ) is discontinuing sales of Freon refrigerants 404A and 507 in the US, starting immediately, the company said Thursday.

The decision was taken in accordance with regulatory phasedowns of hydrofluorocarbons under the American Innovation and Manufacturing Act and Canada's Ozone-depleting Substances and Halocarbon Alternatives Regulations.

The company said Opteon XP40 is a replacement available for the discontinued refrigerants.

Company shares were up over 1% in recent trading.
