09:36 AM EDT, 07/08/2025 (MT Newswires) -- Chesapeake Utilities ( CPK ) said Tuesday its Aspire Energy Express unit reached an agreement with American Electric Power ( AEP ) to construct and operate a natural gas pipeline in central Ohio.

The intrastate pipeline will serve a new fuel-cell facility that will provide a data center with on-site electric power in H2 of 2027, Chesapeake Utilities ( CPK ) said.

The company said the new Aspire Energy Express transmission infrastructure represents about $10 million of capital investment.
