March 19 (Reuters) - U.S. oil giant Chevron ( CVX ) is
lobbying Washington to allow for more time to wind down its
operations in Venezuela after President Donald Trump's
administration revoked the company's license to pump oil in the
country, the Wall Street Journal reported on Wednesday, citing
people familiar with the matter.
The company's CEO, Mike Wirth, spoke privately this week
with people in Trump's cabinet, including Secretary of State
Marco Rubio and Treasury Secretary Scott Bessent, the WSJ report
said.
Chevron ( CVX ) did not immediately respond to a Reuters request for
comment.
