China Ministry to Launch Anti-Dumping Probe of US-Made Microchips
Sep 15, 2025 3:51 AM

06:30 AM EDT, 09/15/2025 (MT Newswires) -- China's Ministry of Commerce said Sunday it has initiated an anti-dumping investigation on imports of certain analog microchips from the US.

Products under investigation are the type typically made by Texas Instruments ( TXN ) and Analog Devices (ADI), according to a report from Bloomberg News.

The probe follows a complaint filed in July by the Jiangsu Semiconductor Industry Association on behalf of Chinese chipmakers, an application which includes content and evidence required for initiating an anti-dumping investigation, according to a translation of a statement by the ministry.

Products under investigation include certain analog IC chips, interface transceiver chips, bi-directional, two-wire synchronous serial bus interface chips, digital isolator chips and other general-purpose interface chips.

To conduct the investigation, which can last as long as a year with a possible six-month extension, the ministry said it will issue a questionnaire to interested parties.

Shares of Texas Instruments ( TXN ) and Analog Devices were both down around 3% in recent premarket activity.
