SHANGHAI, Nov 26 (Reuters) - Chinese battery company
CATL said on Tuesday that it did not have any
suppliers from the Xinjiang region, in response to comments made
by Republican John Moolenaar.
The U.S. banned on Friday food, metals and other imports
from about 30 more Chinese companies over alleged forced labor
involving the Uyghurs. Moolenaar, who chairs the House Select
Committee on China, said two of the firms, Xinjiang Nonferrous
and Xinjiang Joinworld, were CATL suppliers.
CATL said it did not have any connections to the two firms
and that it did not have any suppliers at all from the Xinjiang
region. It added that it strictly complied with all laws and
regulations in all markets including the U.S.
