China's Xi pledges to work for peace on Korean Peninsula, Seoul says

GYEONGJU, South Korea, Nov 1 (Reuters) - Chinese

President Xi Jinping told South Korean President Lee Jae Myung

that he would continue to make efforts to resolve issues

surrounding the Korean Peninsula, South Korea's top security

adviser said on Saturday.

During a summit between Lee and Xi, the South Korean leader

called on China to play a constructive role in order to resume

dialogue with North Korea, the adviser Wi Sung-lac said at a

media briefing.
