Chip Stocks Rise Pre-Bell After Taiwan Semiconductor Manufacturing's Positive Q3 Results

09:09 AM EDT, 10/17/2024 (MT Newswires) -- US-based chip stocks were up during Thursday premarket activity after Taiwan Semiconductor Manufacturing ( TSM ) reported higher than expected Q3 results and Q4 revenue outlook.

Nvidia ( NVDA ) shares were up 3% and Advanced Micro Devices ( AMD ) rose 2.8%. Qualcomm ( QCOM ) also climbed 3%, with Micron Technology ( MU ) gaining 2.2%.

TSM early Thursday reported Q3 earnings of 12.54 new Taiwan dollars ($0.39) per diluted share on revenue of NT$759.69 billion. Analysts polled by Capital IQ expected NT$11.55 on NT$750.21 billion.
