01:54 PM EDT, 03/20/2026 (MT Newswires) -- Chubb ( CB ) said Friday the maritime insurance facility created in partnership with the US government through the US International Development Finance Corporation, or DFC, will be available to ships transiting the Strait of Hormuz "only under certain conditions."
Chubb ( CB ), which is the lead underwriter for the DFC's $20 billion Maritime Reinsurance plan, didn't elaborate on the conditions ships travelling through the strait must meet.
The facility will provide war marine risk insurance for hull & liability and cargo, the company said.
