CIBC Outlines Executive Appointments; Jon Hountalas Transitioning to Role of Vice Chair

11:16 AM EDT, 09/05/2024 (MT Newswires) -- Canadian Imperial Bank of Commerce ( CM ) on Thursday announced senior leadership appointments, effective Nov. 1, marking the company's second executive shuffle in six months.

Jon Hountalas will move to the role of vice chair, North American Banking, covering retail, commercial banking and wealth management.

Susan Rimmer will be senior executive vice president and group head for commercial banking and wealth management.

Harry Culham will become senior executive vice president and group head for capital markets, global asset management and enterprise strategy.

Christian Exshaw will be appointed as deputy head, of CIBC Capital Markets.

Hratch Panossian, currently senior executive vice president and group head for personal and business banking, will take on expanded responsibility for Simplii Financial.

Shawn Beber will continue in his current role as senior executive vice president and group head for the U.S. region, along with president and CEO of CIBC Bank USA.

"The changes we're announcing today will broaden the opportunities for a number of leaders to further their exposure to the needs of our clients across our bank, as we continue to deliver for our stakeholders," CIBC chief executive Victor Dodig said in a release.

The bank's shares were last seen up $0.65 to $80.25 on the Toronto Stock Exchange.
