08:51 AM EDT, 07/29/2024 (MT Newswires) -- Cinemark Holdings ( CNK ) said Monday the 'Deadpool & Wolverine' movie recorded the highest-ever domestic opening box office for a film at its locations during the summer movie season.

The movie beat "every other film opening" from May to August in Cinemark's history, the company added.

Additionally, 'Deadpool & Wolverine' marked the largest opening weekend for Cinemark's Cinemark XD private-label premium large format and the highest weekend for D-BOX motion seats, the company said.

The film was produced by Walt Disney's ( DIS ) Marvel unit.

Cinemark's stock was 1.4% higher in recent premarket activity.
