09:42 AM EDT, 10/08/2025 (MT Newswires) -- Cisco Systems ( CSCO ) said Wednesday it launched a new chip and a networking system that aim to connect artificial intelligence data centers located "hundreds of miles apart" from one another.

The Cisco ( CSCO ) 8223 routing system powered by the Silicon One P200 chip is a 51.2 terabit-per-second Ethernet fixed router system designed for "intense" traffic of AI workloads between data centers, the company said.

Cisco ( CSCO ) shares were up 1.5% in recent early trading.
