06:55 AM EDT, 07/16/2025 (MT Newswires) -- Citigroup ( C ) is considering the issuance of its own stablecoin as part of a broader push into digital assets, Chief Executive Jane Fraser said Tuesday during the company's post-earnings conference call.

"We are looking at the issuance of a Citi stablecoin," she said. "But probably most importantly is the tokenized deposit space, where we're very active."

Fraser described digital assets as "the next evolution in the broader digitization of payments, financing and liquidity," noting that Citi's strategy is driven by growing client demand for multi-asset, multibank, cross-border and always-on services.
