Citigroup, JPMorgan, Royal Bank of Canada Agree to Disclose New Climate Metric in Deal with NYC Pension Funds

09:07 AM EDT, 04/04/2024 (MT Newswires) -- Citigroup ( C ) , JPMorgan (JPM) and Royal Bank of Canada (RBC) have agreed to publicly disclose the ratio of their financing of low-carbon projects relative to fossil fuels, New York City Comptroller Brad Lander said Thursday in a post on X.

Separately, Lander said in an interview with Bloomberg that the new climate metric deals with "both sides of the equation," given that a lot of financial institutions have scaled their green investments without reducing their financing for oil and gas.

None of the three banks immediately responded to MT Newswires' requests for comment.
