Citigroup Reportedly Names Wenjie Zhang as New China Head

08:36 AM EDT, 06/02/2025 (MT Newswires) -- Citigroup ( C ) has appointed Wenjie Zhang as its country head and banking head for China, as well as the president and executive director of Citibank China, multiple media outlets reported Monday, citing a statement from the bank.

Zhang will succeed Luke Lu, who left the bank in November for personal reasons, according to the reports.

Zhang was most recently the president of China and Shanghai branch manager for Bank of America (BAC) China, according to reports.

The lender did not immediately reply to a request for comment from MT Newswires.

Shares were 0.6% lower in recent premarket activity.
