10:30 AM EDT, 10/29/2025 (MT Newswires) -- Cleveland-Cliffs ( CLF ) said Wednesday its steel parts were stamped with no defects using aluminum-forming equipment of an automotive original equipment manufacturer in a production trial.

The steel producer said the trial showed that Cliffs steel can effectively replace aluminum in critical automotive applications without the need for costly retooling.

The firm said it has moved to routine production from the trial phase. It also said that it has received inquiries from clients for programs that will replace aluminum with Cliffs steel.

Shares were up more than 2% in recent trading.
