CME Group to Launch New Battery Metal Futures Contract

04:19 AM EDT, 09/30/2024 (MT Newswires) -- CME Group ( CME ) said Monday that it plans to expand its battery metals derivatives by launching a Spodumene CIF China futures contract, effective Oct. 28.

The futures will expand hedging tools in lithium and other battery metals markets, the company said.

The launch is pending a regulatory review.
