Three analysts polled by Capital IQ expected $1.22.

Revenue for the quarter ended June 30 was $3.52 billion, compared with $3.30 billion a year earlier.

An analyst surveyed by Capital IQ expected $3.55 billion.

CNA Financial ( CNA ) said that on July 26 it maintained its quarterly dividend at $0.44 per share, payable Aug. 29 to shareholders of record as of Aug. 12.
