CNBC-TV18 ground report on the impact on travel and tourism

COVID-19 has severely derailed the travel and tourism industry. While no formal study has been instituted for assessment of the impact, the government recently said that several rounds of discussions and brainstorming sessions with industry stakeholders indicate massive loss of revenue, foreign exchange and jobs. International air traffic has fallen nearly 87 percent and domestic by 80 percent between March and July 2020.
