SANTIAGO, July 8 (Reuters) - The world's biggest copper
producer, Chile'S state-run Codelco, will wait to see if some
countries are exempted from U.S. President Donald Trump's plans
to impose a 50% tariff on copper imports before weighing in on
the matter, Codelco Chairman Maximo Pacheco said on Tuesday.
"We have to see whether this will apply to all countries or
only some," Pacheco told Reuters, adding that he would also wait
to see which copper products might be targeted by the tariff,
which has yet to be officially announced.
