08:59 AM EDT, 05/29/2024 (MT Newswires) -- Cogeco Inc. ( CGECF ) and Cogeco Communications Inc. ( CGEAF ) said Wednesday that they have combined the commercial, operational, and technical functions of the Canadian and US telecommunications businesses under a single North American organization.

"We identified a significant opportunity to increase our speed, drive new innovation and operate more efficiently," Frederic Perron, president and chief executive officer of Cogeco ( CGECF ), said. "Against the backdrop of a rapidly changing industry, this nimbler structure will increase our agility and bring our top leaders closer to our customers and front-line teams."

As part of the changes, Sean Brushett will serve as chief operating officer and oversee call centers, field operations, facilities, and supply chain across Canada and the US. Brushett previously held a similar role at Breezeline, Cogeco's ( CGECF ) US telecommunications business, as well as various executive positions at Comcast, Time Warner, and US West Communications.

Nancy Audette will serve as senior vice president of growth initiatives. Audette will manage digital brands and wireless services across Canada and the US in this role. Audette previously served as senior vice president and general manager of consumer at Cogeco Connexion.

Marie Ginette Lepage has assumed the role of senior vice president of transformation. In this role, Lepage will oversee key revenue and cost initiatives across the corporation. Lepage was previously senior vice president of mobile strategy and innovation at Cogeco ( CGECF ).

These changes are effective Sept. 1. Paul Cowling will join Cogeco ( CGECF ) on July 2 as chief legal and corporate affairs officer.

Patrice Ouimet as chief financial officer, Tim Dinesen as chief technology and information officer, Linda Gillespie as chief human resources officer, and Caroline Paquet as president of Cogeco Media, will continue to lead their respective areas. As part of these changes, Frank van der Post, president of Breezeline, and Valery Zamuner, chief legal and corporate affairs officer, leave the company to pursue new opportunities.

The company has initiated a search for the position of chief commercial officer, responsible for functions such as sales, marketing, product, and digital across Canada and the US.
