04:21 PM EDT, 08/13/2025 (MT Newswires) -- Coherent (COHR) said Wednesday it has entered an agreement to sell its Aerospace and Defense business to private equity investor Advent for $400 million.

The Aerospace and Defense division of the photonics company, spread across ten sites, manufactures optical and laser systems for defense usage.

The deal proceeds will be used to reduce Coherent's debt and the sale is expected to complete in third quarter of the year, it said.
